I am a freelance writer focused on science writing with a particular expertise in neuroscience. I am interested in the history of scientific ideas, how research is funded and communicated, and, of course, the latest and greatest scientific ideas produced by the world’s finest minds. You can find links to my published writing here or read more on my blog.
I am also currently a graduate student working with Dr. Nicholas Schiff in the Laboratory of Cognitive Neuromodulation within the Systems Neuroscience department at Weill Cornell Graduate School. I study patients with disorders of consciousness, developing methods to assess residual cognitive capacity after brain injury. Our lab was featured in the March 2011 issue of Discover Magazine.
I graduated from Harvard University in 2006 with an A.B. in Visual and Environmental Studies.
